February 11th - Singers/Players/Listeners night
The writer and performer of brilliant songs, and one of the best guitarists in the UK.
Tickets (on the door) will be £8 each (£6 for members).
February 25th - Singers/Players/Listeners night
The Darlington based French songstress who has wowed our members whenever she's been heard.
After 12 years teaching English full time in France, Flossie came as a French teacher in Stockton-on Tees. Having sung for years in France, she joined Darlington Folk Club to meet the locals and sing. Although she returned to France for a year, she missed the life in England and came back! Now based in Darlington, she teaches when needed but mainly focuses on her singing. She has released 5 albums. Her songs include famous numbers, such as 'Roll on the day' 'Making up the miles' 'The child who asks why', and Edith Piaf's 'No regrets' and 'La vie en rose', but also songs which are full of 'vavavoum' and she makes space for lovely ballads as well as jazzy tunes.
March 10th Singers/Players/Listeners night
Much of their material is original, but their style is distinctly traditional. Accompanying themselves on melodeon, guitar and bouzouki, with fine vocal harmonies and strong arrangements, their audience is with them from the word go.
Strongly recommended by some of our favourite artists we're looking forward to a great night. £8 for visitors, £6 for members.
March 24th - Closed - Bank Holiday
Equally at home on a folk club, festival or concert stage, his reputation grows with each performance.
Singing in a warm, soulful voice, ably self-accompanied on guitar, he wins friends with a set that mixes mellow, folksy ballads with hard edged country blues and a sprinkling of comic material.
April 7th - Singers/Players/Listeners night
Steph was a New Roots competition finalist a year or two ago, and last year she did a feature night for us. We were so impressed with her style, voice and all round splendidness we felt we had to have her back for a full guest spot. This is your chance to see one of tomorrow's big names before you've got to queue for tickets at the Festival Hall. Tickets £5 for members, £7 for visitors
April 21st - Singers/Players/Listeners night
One of our favourite duos who never fail to please!
£6 members/£8 visitors
May 5th - Closed, Bank Holiday
"...rural America explored with elegant simplicity. Their music and cleanly poetic songwriting bring to mind the great folksingers of our times"
Asheville Citizen-Times
Dana and Susan make music that is a perfect blend of the old and new, bringing roots and tradition to contemporary songwriting. With depth, and clarity, Dana writes songs about America, the land and its people. They bring to their performances an understanding of America's musical heritiage.
We last saw Dana and Susan in 2005 and look forward to seeing them again. (£8/£6)
May 19th Players/Singers/Listeners night
May 26th Closed - Bank Holiday
The man with Tudor Folk coming out of his ears. A welcome return for the most accomplished of singers. Only £6 for members and £8 for visitors.

"Welcome to the beguiling, hilarious, delightful world of Sleeping Dogz....
Craziness, underwritten by some great, nicely individual acoustic music"
Rock 'n' Reel magazine 2007
Their versatility is reflected in the number of instruments played between them, including guitar, fiddle, cello, banjo, balalaika, uilleann pipes, whistles, harmonium and djembe, producing a blend of highly emotive original music and arrangements.
